After months of anticipation, Disney Cruise Line has finally revealed the new character costumes for their private island destination, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is gearing up to offer guests an immersive experience with a strong emphasis on Bahamian culture and traditions. Bahamian artist and designer Theodore Elyett designed the costumes for Mickey, Minnie, and friends. The costumes embody Bahamian culture with vibrant, tropical colors that reflect the festive spirit of the island.
Mickey Mouse can be seen sporting conch shell-patterned shorts, while Minnie dazzles in a new dress adorned with Bahamian-inspired polka dots.
These new designs are not just for show; they’re also available as merchandise, allowing guests to take a piece of their magical experience home. The collection includes plush versions of Mickey and Minnie in their new attire, as well as a range of designer Minnie ears, spirit jerseys, and Loungefly mini backpacks—all reflecting the vivid colors and joyous energy of the Bahamian Junkanoo festival.
The addition of Disney Lookout Cay is a strategic expansion for Disney Cruise Line, offering new adventures and exclusive experiences for its guests. This island retreat is part of Disney’s broader efforts to enhance its cruise offerings and various themed cruises, ensuring that Disney’s magic remains alive on the high seas.
Disney cruisers will get their first look at Lookout Cay when the island welcomes its first guests in June. The unveiling of the character costumes and the opening of Lookout Cay represent exciting developments that promise to blend Disney magic with the unique cultural tapestry of the Bahamas.
