Icon of the Seas has arrived at Port Miami, marking a historic event in cruising.

Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas arrived in Miami on January 10, 2024, before her naming ceremony. Icon’s arrival marks a historic moment in the cruising industry. The world’s largest ship is a marvel of modern engineering and luxury, promising an exciting new adventure for passengers.
Crowds gathered at PortMiami’s South Pointe Park Pier in the early morning to witness the grand arrival of the ship to its new home. Spectators were amazed by the ship’s immense size and advanced features. Icon of the Seas is 1,198 feet long, accommodating 7,800 passengers and 2,350 crew members.
“Miami’s skyline is getting even more iconic,”said Royal Caribbean.
The ship’s arrival was celebrated with great fanfare, including a welcome party at the Perez Art Museum Miami. Festivities included a marching band, cheerleaders, and the traditional escort of fireboats with water cannons.

The 250,800 gross-ton cruise ship features an impressive array of amenities, including seven pools, nine whirlpools, and six record-breaking water slides. One of its most notable features is The Hideaway, which boasts the first suspended infinity pool at sea, situated 135 feet above the ocean.
Accommodation options on the ship are diverse, with 28 different room types available, including Royal Caribbean’s first Family Infinite Balconies and the Ultimate Family Townhouse. The AquaDome neighborhood is another highlight, featuring a 55-foot-tall water curtain and panoramic ocean views.
Icon of the Seas’ official naming ceremony occurs on January 23, 2023. The ship’s godparent, soccer star Lionel Messi, will participate in the ceremony, christening the incredible vessel.
Lionel Messi, the official icon of Icon of the Seas, attended the exclusive naming celebration in Miami. The vessel is the first in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class, with plans for additional ships in the coming years.
Icon of the Seas will embark on its maiden voyage on January 27, featuring stops at St. Thomas, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. The starting price for a single person is $1,800.
