After hinting about an exciting announcement earlier in the week, Royal Caribbean has revealed its inaugural Ultimate World Cruise. The record-breaking 274-day voyage will bring guests to seven continents, 65 countries, and 150 destinations.

The roundtrip voyage will take place on the Serenade of the Seas, and depart Miami on December 10, 2023, and return 10 months later on September 10, 2024.

The World Cruise of World Cruises

Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley raised eyebrows early this week when he hinted that “big news” was coming. And he did not disappoint. Michael said in the news release that the cruise, dubbed “Ultimate World Cruise,” will be “the world cruise of world cruises.”

“Now more than ever, people have resolved to travel the world and make up for lost time. Royal Caribbean is making that a reality with the ultimate vacation that welcomes those seeking adventure and exploration to taste, dance and dream with us around the world. To travelers asking themselves where they should go next, we say everywhere.”

Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International

The round-trip voyage will span nine months and will commence on December 10, 2023, sailing from Miami, Florida. The itinerary includes visits to all seven continents and over 150 destinations in 65 countries. The cruise will conclude in Miami on September 10, 2024.

Fifty-seven of the destinations in the Ultimate World Cruise itinerary are new to Royal Caribbean and will be exclusive to this cruise.

Four Ultimate World Cruise Segments

Don’t worry if you can’t spare 274 days for the full cruise. Four expedition cruises within the larger cruise are available for booking and are broken down below.

  • Round the Horn: Americas and Antarctica Expedition which will sail Dec. 10, 2023 to Feb. 11, 2024.
  • Wonders of Asia and the Pacific Expedition which will sail Feb. 11 to May 9, 2024.
  • Middle East Treasures and Marvels of the Med Expedition which will sail May 9 to July 10, 2024.
  • Capitals of Culture which will sail July 10 to Sept. 10, 2024.
