Earlier today, Royal Caribbean Group unveiled a new loyalty status match program for its three brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises. The long-awaited initiative enhances customer experience and loyalty by allowing one brand’s loyalty program members to enjoy equivalent benefits when sailing with another Royal Caribbean Group cruise line.

Royal Caribbean Group Loyalty Matching

Effective immediately, Royal Caribbean International’s Crown & Anchor Society members, Celebrity Cruises Captain’s Club members, and Silversea Cruises Venetian Society members can seamlessly transfer their loyalty status across these brands. This loyalty matching allows guests to receive equivalent status at any of the three brands.

For example, a Diamond level Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society member receives Elite status on Celebrity Cruises and 250 VS Days when sailing with Silversea. In another example, Silversea Venetian Society members with 350 VS Days receive Diamond Plus and Elite Plus status when sailing with Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises, respectively.

The new loyalty matching program is most beneficial for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises members who want to try Silversea Cruises. Although Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises have long had a tier-matching program, this is the first time cruisers can match their loyalty status with Silversea Cruises.

“We strive to provide guests with experiences within our portfolio of brands that meet them for all of life’s moments,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “Each of our differentiated brands have passionate fans who take pride in the status they’ve achieved through repeat sailings. In a first for the cruise industry, our new Loyalty Status Match program rewards guests traveling across our brands, and this is one more step in our journey of transforming a vacation of a lifetime into a lifetime of vacations.”

“The cruise operators match program is an industry first. It allows guests to experience perks across Royal Caribbean’s bands without waiting to accumulate points in each loyalty program.

Cruisers will automatically have their loyalty status matched on cruises departing June 5th or later. However, you must enroll in the cruise line’s loyalty program before receiving a status match.

Future Prospects

The introduction of this program marks a significant step towards creating a more integrated and rewarding loyalty experience across the Royal Caribbean Group. While the current announcement is exciting, it is a disappointment for those wishing for a single combined loyalty program.

Right now, you’ll earn loyalty points for the cruise line you sail with. A combined loyalty program would allow you to earn points while sailing on any of Royal Caribbean Group’s sands.

Royal Caribbean Group’s CEO has hinted that a combined loyalty program is in the works. Hopefully, this will be the first step towards making that a reality.
