Royal Caribbean made headlines everywhere when it announced its first-ever world cruise only two weeks ago. The record-breaking round-trip itinerary will see passengers visit 65 countries over the course of 274 days!

The “Ultimate World Cruise” will sail on the Serenade of the Seas, beginning December 10, 2023, and returning on September 10, 2024.

With ticket prices starting around $60,000, and as high as the hundreds of thousands of dollars, Royal Caribbean figured it would need a little over two years to sell them. Shockingly, the cruise is 70% sold out within the first two weeks of tickets going on sale!

Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley could not hold back his excitement during last weeks quarterly results call in which he stated:

“We launched the World Cruise with Royal Caribbean International literally about 10 days ago and we only made it available to 16 million loyalty members. And within seven days, we were 70 percent booked.”

Michael Bayley, Royal Caribbean International President and CEO

While ticket prices start at $60,000, Bayley added that the Royal Suite has gone for $760,000. According to Bayley, the success of ticket sales are indicative of pent-up demand for cruising after a long pause throughout the pandemic.
