Virgin Voyages Welcomes Valiant Lady

Virgin Voyages welcomes its second ship, the 2,770-passenger, 110,000-gross-ton Valiant Lady. The Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa completed construction on the new vessel earlier this month.

The handover to Virgin Voyages marks a significant milestone for the ship and the cruise line. Valiant Lady is the second of four cruise ships ordered by Virgin Voyages.

“Following the success of our first lady ship, Scarlet Lady, we are so excited to debut Valiant Lady this March and begin our European tour. The lifting of UK travel restrictions has already shown promising signs with a 70% uplift in bookings since December – and we can’t wait to welcome Sailors on board!“

Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages

The new ship will sail several cruises from the United Kingdom before moving to her homeport of Barcelona, Spain, where she will offer Mediterranean cruises.

During the coming weeks, Valiant Lady will make her way to the UK from her present location in Civitavecchia, Italy. The ship will take a promotional tour around the UK, including stops in Tilbury and Liverpool, before her maiden voyage in March.

“We’ll be showcasing our newest lady in Tilbury and Liverpool, where fans are invited to wave her in before we kick off our bookable European sailings from Portsmouth in March and our new homeport in Barcelona in May. Our epic sailings have curated itineraries that are unbelievably accessible for those in Europe wanting to cruise differently, and we look forward to hitting the high seas and showing both budding and avid sailors how to voyage the Virgin way.”

The new vessel will operate UK sailings from London International Cruise Terminal starting in March, before transitioning to Barcelona.

Virgin Voyages Continued Growth

Since the launch of Virgin Voyages’ first ship, Scarlet Lady, in 2021, the cruise line has received outstanding reviews from thousands of passengers. In fact, the first Virgin ship holds the most five-star reviews on TripAdvisor in the industry, an accomplishment Sir Richard Brandson hopes to continue with Valiant Lady.

“Virgin Voyages has been a dream in the making since my 20s, and today is a momentous day launching our second ladyship, Valiant Lady. It’s exciting to be able to celebrate our continued growth as a brand that’s on a mission to voyage like no other. In our five decades in business, Virgin has always sought to offer our customers something extra special, and Virgin Voyages has worked tirelessly to do just that.”

Sir Richard Branson

Virgin Voyages has disrupted the cruising industry by focusing on an underserved market, young adults. The cruise line is best known for its active nightlife, incredible dining options, and laid-back atmosphere.

Virgin’s adult-only approach to cruising has been well received by the thousands of passengers who have sailed on Scarlet Lady.

The brand’s newest 110,000 gross-ton cruise ship has room for 2,770 guests in its 1,300 cabins, 78 RockStar Quarters, and two Massive Suites.

86 percent of the cabins on board Valiant Lady offer a balcony, and over 90 percent have ocean views.

The new vessel boasts first-class entertainment, state-of-the-art health and wellness facilities, and dining options created by the minds of Michelin-starred chefs. The cabins aboard the ship feature a newly designed warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

For a limited time, passengers can book any sailing with Virgin Voyages and get 20% off along with $100 toward their prepaid Bar Tab, plus an additional 10% by paying in full.
