Latitudes Rewards Program Basics
The Latitudes Rewards Program is Norwegian Cruise Line’s loyalty program packed with exclusive discounts and perks for members. The program is free to join and passengers are automatically enrolled after their first cruise with Norwegian.
How to Sign Up for Norwegian’s Latitudes Rewards Program
Signing up for the latitudes rewards program is easy. Once you’ve taken your first Norwegian cruise, you’ll automatically become a loyalty program member.
Passengers over the age of 18 are automatically enrolled when they take their first cruise with NCL.
Minors, those under the age of 18, will accumulate points. Once they take their first cruise after they turn 18, they will earn all the accumulated reward points.
Ways to Earn Points

Earning points in the Latitudes Rewards loyalty program is simple.
Latitudes Rewards Members earn:
- One point for every night spent on a Norwegian cruise ship.
- An additional one point per night while staying in a Concierge-level cabin, the Haven rooms, or full-fare suites (not mini-suites or club balcony suites).
- An additional one point per night when the cruise is booked using a Latitudes Rewards Insider Offer (special offers for Latitudes Rewards members)
It’s important to note that the additional point per night for guests staying in suites is only applicable to guests who booked the suite at the time of reservation. The additional loyalty points don’t apply to guests whose suite reservation results from an upgrade.
Program Tiers and Benefits

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Latitudes Rewards program features seven tiers. Each level in the program is assigned a different metal or jewel, except for the highest tier, Ambassador.
The more you cruise, the more points you accumulate. After earning the required points, you’ll move to the next tier.
However, if you reach a new tier mid-way through a cruise, you won’t be able to use the benefits until your next Norwegian cruise.
You can start taking advantage of the benefits once you reach the Bronze tier after your first cruise.

Norwegian’s Latitudes Rewards Program Benefits Fine Print

Once you board your cruise, you only need to present your card to redeem your tier benefits.
Some terms and conditions apply to the cruise line loyalty programs and member benefits. We have summarized the important conditions below.
For the full terms and conditions, visit Norwegian Cruise Line
Shore Excursions Discounts
You can use the shore excursion discount when you purchase online or onboard the ship.
When making shore excursion reservations online, the discount won’t be reflected in the shopping section of My NCL but will be applied once the excursion is added to your shopping cart and you complete checkout.
If you want to book a shore excursion onboard the ship, you’ll need to visit the shore excursions desk. To receive the discount, simply let the desk member know you are a loyalty program member and present your key card.
Internet Package Discounts
The internet package discount can be applied to the Unlimited 1 device and Unlimited Premium 1 device internet packages.
The discount is not valid when you receive the internet package as part of the Free at Sea promotion. You can use the discount when you purchase an internet package online or on the ship.
Free Specialty Dinner

The free specialty dinner entitles guests to one appetizer, one entree (up to $35), and one dessert. Norwegian will add an upcharge to their onboard account for passengers who order an entree over the $35 price limit.
According to Norwegian’s Terms and Conditions, “Restaurants not available on all ships. On Norwegian Bliss, Moderno is replaced by Los Lobos or Q. On Norwegian Joy, Moderno is replaced by Food Republic or Q. In Food Republic, the benefit entitles each guest to a total food value of $35 per guest. On Norwegian Encore, Moderno or La Cucina is replaced by Los Lobos or Q. On Norwegian Spirit, Cagney’s or Le Bistro becomes Cagney’s only. Moderno or La Cucina is replaced by Le Bistro or Onda.”
The free specialty dinner is per stateroom and includes service charges. Passengers can only redeem this benefit on sailings for five days or longer.
Diamond Cabin Upgrade
Members are offered a complimentary one-time cabin upgrade upon reaching the Diamond tier. You can use the cabin upgrade for one category increase from the stateroom category you book.
The highest category increase that you can upgrade is the Club Balcony. You cannot use the upgrade for suites or The Haven.
Further, guests must use the complimentary cabin upgrade within the first year of becoming a Diamond tier member.
Ambassador Free Cruise

Perhaps the most coveted benefit is the free cruise offered to Ambassador members.
Guests who reach the Ambassador level receive a complimentary 7-night cruise in a balcony cabin. Passengers who wish to upgrade to a Suite or The Haven simply pay the price difference.
However, you can’t increase the length of the cruise.
The free cruise doesn’t have a destination restriction, so feel free to choose the itinerary of your dreams.
Additionally, you may not be able to take advantage of the free cruise during Christmas or New Year.
Like the cabin upgrade, the free cruise must be used within one year of becoming an Ambassador member.
NCL Latitudes Rewards Program FAQs
When Are Latitudes Rewards Points Added to My Account?
Latitudes Rewards points are only added to your account after your cruise return.
Like most cruise line loyalty programs, you’ll only receive points based on the nights you spend on a cruise ship. Therefore you won’t earn points simply by booking.
Since points are awarded after each sailing, even if you reach a new tier during the cruise, you’ll have to wait until your next cruise to reap the rewards.
Do Latitudes Rewards Points Expire? Does the Status Level Drop?
Unlike some airline loyalty programs, your Latitudes Rewards Points never expire, and your status level never drops. In fact, Norwegian Crusie Line allowed passengers to keep their tier and point status when they updated their loyalty program.
Are There Restrictions on Latitudes Rewards Benefits?
According to Norwegian Cruise Line, Latitudes Reward members can use the onboard discounts on all sailings. However, some discounts are only available on itineraries of five days or longer.
Additionally, not all cruise ships have a Moderno, Cagney’s, or Le Bistro – which program members can receive a complimentary dinner. Instead, the cruise line has substitute restaurant options on affected ships.
For a complete list of restrictions and the program terms and conditions, visit ncl.com.
What Happens if You Reach A New Reward Level During a Cruise?
Points are only awarded after you finish a cruise. So, even if you would have enough points to jump to the next tier mid-way through your sailing, you won’t receive the benefits until your next cruise.
According to Norwegian Cruise Line, earned rewards points are added to your account within 48 hours following the completion of your cruise.
This means even if you reach a higher tier mid-way through your vacation, you will have to wait until your next cruise to take advantage of the benefits.
Do Latitudes Rewards Points Transfer to Other Norwegian Brands?
No. Rewards points are only earned for sailings on Norwegian cruises and are not transferrable to other cruise lines. Norwegian Cruise Line’s sister brands include Regent Seven Seas and Oceania Cruises.
What if I am Missing Points From a Past Cruise?
If you’ve taken a cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line but don’t see the points awarded to your account, you should contact the cruise line. According to NCL, earned points are added to your account within 48 hours of the completion of your cruise. If you don’t see the points in your account, you can claim past cruises if you notify the cruise line within 12 months of the end date.
To claim your past cruise, you can log into your NCL account. You can find the link to report missing rewards points in your past cruise history.
For more help, you can reach the Latitudes Rewards desk at 866-234-0292.
How Do I Find My Latitudes Rewards Number?
There are several ways to find your Latitudes Rewards number:
1. Log in to your My NCL account.
2. Call the Latitudes Rewards helpline at 866-234-0292.
3. The number can be found on your Cruise Documents (eDocs), and the Latitudes Insider Offer email.
Is NCL’s Latitudes Rewards Program Worth Joining?
You’ll automatically enroll in the program when you sail on your first Norwegian cruise. There are no forms to sign or fees to sign up or stay on as a member. There is no downside to joining, and plenty of benefits to advantage to enjoy!
Will I Receive Points if I Cancel a Cruise?
No. You will not receive points for canceled cruises even if the cruise was paid in full and you paid the cancellation penalty. Points are only earned for nights sailed on a Norwegian cruise ship.
I just got my 3rd cruise silver latitude rewards and I’m so happy I got it!
Woohooo! Congratulations on reaching the next tier.
